Watford Ladies' youth teams began 2015 in disappointing fashion with only the Under-13 Hornets tasting victory, beating Hitchin Belles 10-5.
Charlotte Bailey did much of the damage by netting four times. Ciara Purdue (3), Charli O’Connor (2) and Josie Layton rounded off the scoring.
The Under-17 Wasps just came up short at Hitchin Belles, losing out 3-2, with a Kelly Asojo brace not enough for the Golden Girls.
The Under-15 Harts were beaten 2-1 at home by Harpenden Colts.
Four goals were not enough for the Under-13 Harts, who lost out 5-4 to Hoddesdon Owls Eagles in a thrilling contest.
Amy Doherty, Jemimah Rose, Amy Ryan and an own goal were the Watford scorers.
In the Under-11 age group, Watford’s Harts and Hornets went head-to-head following the Harts’ surprise mid-season promotion.
Despite a bright start from the underdog Harts, their club-mates eased to victory. Kayra Karakus and Bliss Murray each netted twice and there were singles for Olivia Cook, Grace Langham and Beau Partridge also.
