St Clement Danes School’s Year 8 girls were crowned County Champions at the Hertfordshire Sportshall Athletics County Finals.
They qualified for the County final by beating the other schools in the Three Rivers District, including a strong team from Royal Masonic School for Girls. Clement Danes were joined at Wodson Park Sports Centre by Queens’ School, who won the Watford and District round.
In the final, Clement Danes triumphed in all but one of the track events – scooping second in the only event they did not win – despite coming up against some of the fastest girls from across Hertfordshire.
St Clement Danes faced stiff competition from Hitchin Girls School in the field but held on to seal the win by three points.
The St Clement Danes team consisted of Ella Broadfield, Annie Black, Amelie Royle, Elsa Richardson-Lindelhof, Amelie Cooper, Charlotte Stone, Daisy Fraser and Julie Kingsley.
