Women's Southern League Championship

Radlett showed no sign of early-season ring rust as they clinically dispatched Twickenham in their league opener.

Having lost the toss and been put into the field, Hannah Smith’s side quickly found their range with the ball.

Laura Owen claimed three for eight from five overs on debut as sorry Twickenham were dismissed for just 45.

In reply, 2014 Player of the Year Anna Harris (32 not out) was in a hurry as she bludgeoned five boundaries, while Smith (4 not out) stood at the non-striker’s end and admired.

Radlett reached their target in 4.4 overs to get their season off and running in style.

Division Two A

Old Merchant Taylors' marked their return to the second tier after a decade away with a six-wicket win over Finchampstead Seconds.

Electing to bowl after winning the toss, OMTs quickly removed Finchampstead for just 143, with Rehan Hasan taking seven for 35 and Paul Katz three for 37.

Kavir Vedd (40), Ashill Shah and Hasan got OMTs off on a good footing before Adam Brand and newly-appointed skipper Paul Marshall guided OMTs to victory.

Division Six A

OMTs Seconds were comfortably beaten by recently-relegated Tring Park Thirds, going down by eight wickets.

Inserted into bat, OMTs found the going tough on a slow pitch and a plucky 52 from Chris Plume in the middle of the order helped them reach a total of 189 for seven in 52 overs.

But Tring got home by cruising to 190 with eight wickets in hand from 37.5 overs.
