Callum Shinkwin has made positive strides up the leaderboard after shooting a four-under-par second round of 68 at the D+D Real Czech Masters.
The Moor Park professional had work to do to try and make the weekend’s play at the Albatross Golf Resort following a disappointing three-over-par 75 yesterday, but Shinkwin got his round off to a great start with birdies on three of his first five holes having teed off on the tenth.
Birdies four and five followed at the first and sixth before the Bushey-based player dropped the only shot of his second round at the eighth to leave him on one-under-par.
The 23-year-old, who competed at the Open Championship for the first time last month, is currently in a tie for 36th place and inside the projected cut of level par, sitting five shots behind the tournament leaders at the moment.
