Helen Ward has been called up for Wales’ big World Cup qualifier against England at the end of this month.
The 32-year-old, who is currently preparing to lead Watford Ladies into the new FA Women’s National League South campaign, has been included in Jayne Ludlow’s 20-player squad for the showdown against Phil Neville’s Lionesses at Newport’s Rodney Parade ground on Friday, August 31.
Wales, who are currently unbeaten in qualifying and have yet to concede a game, go into the game knowing that a win will secure their place in the finals in France next summer.
The Hornets have stated Wales’ record scorer will link up with the national side after the Golden Girls’ second league match of the campaign against Loughborough Foxes on Sunday, August 26.
