Paul Tierney will take charge Watford’s first away game of the season when the Hornets travel to Burnley on Sunday.
The match will be the official’s maiden game in the middle this season and he was in charge of three Watford games last season.
The Hornets won just one of those clashes, a 1-0 defeat of West Brom in March, and Tierney was also the referee when Burnley visited Watford last season.
That game ended in a 2-1 defeat in April, while Tierney’s other game overseeing Watford in 2017/18 was a 1-0 loss at Brighton.
Going back to 2016/17, Miguel Britos will have less than fond memories of Tierney after he gave the defender his marching orders in a 2-0 win over West Brom.
Tierney didn’t show a single red card in his 32 outings last season and booked 81 players.
