Abdoulaye Doucoure believes Manchester United will provide Watford with their sternest test of the season so far.

A 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in Watford's last outing represented the high point in a campaign which hasn't been short on memorable moments.

Watford showed huge determination to come from behind and beat a genuine title hopeful in the clash with Spurs.

Doucoure, though, feels the win over the north London outfit has only raised expectations surrounding Watford and made the visit of United to Vicarage Road a more testing game.

"I think playing against Tottenham Hotspur was a big test but playing against Man United is bigger," Doucoure said.

"People are more likely to be expecting Watford to win and they expect us to do better. If we can achieve something on Saturday, it will be very good for the squad.

"Since I have been here we have always played well and are more comfortable at home. We want to show very good things in front of our own fans. It is the perfect conditions to do well on Saturday."

The Red Devils' struggles this season, which have seen them lose to Brighton & Hove Albion and Spurs already this campaign, has only added to the belief Watford can come away with three points on Saturday.

United's stature means they retain an enduring quality despite their current difficulties with finding consistency and they remain one of the Premier League's top sides.

That fact is not lost on Doucoure and he was quick to praise the quality at the disposal of United manager Jose Mourinho.

Doucoure also rates the Portuguese boss highly and says he will have an influence on proceedings at Vicarage Road.

The 25-year-old said: "I don't think so (United are easier opponents due to their form). Man United is Man United, they have a very good manager and squad. You have to respect them."
