Hemel Hempstead Rovers edged out West Herts League Premier Division champions Tring Athletic A 2-1 in their top-of-the-table clash.
Athletic took the lead early in the second half on Saturday when Jack Sunderland squeezed the ball home in a crowded penalty area.
Their opponents took time to get back on terms but did so from a corner when Marcus Tower was quickest to react inside the six-yard box.
The game looked set to end all-square until Adrian Keane broke up a Tring move and his precise pass released Tower to beat the advancing keeper with a low drive.
Glenn Sports also look set to feature in the title battle and they were among the goals again, beating new boys Langleybury Cricket Club 5-0.
Charlie Benning led the way with a brace and Charlie Beach, Spencer Warby and James Hocking completed the victory.
