Matt Wallace will be looking to push on from his latest promising start as the European Tour season enters its final stretch.

The Moor Park professional has fired a four-under-par opening round of 67 at the Turkish Airlines Open to sit in a tie for 12th place, three shots behind leader Paul Dunne.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a bogey-free opening 18 holes in Antalya as he picked up shots with birdie threes at the par four fifth, ninth and 18th holes, and made a four on the par five 12th.

A three-time winner on the European Tour in 2018, Wallace went into the sixth Rolex Series event of the year looking to improve his current position of 21st in the Race to Dubai standings.

Restricted to an 80-player field this year, the Turkish Airlines Open is the third last event of the season and is followed by two more premium category tournaments, the Nedbank Golf Challenge followed by the DP World Tour Championship.

Wallace travelled to Turkey having finished in a tie for 50th in his first World Golf Championship event, the WGC - HSBC Champions in China, last weekend.
