Watford look set to face Chelsea with the same squad they had available for Saturday’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United.
Andre Gray, Will Hughes, Adalberto Penaranda and Sebastian Prodl all missed the trip to the London Stadium and Javi Gracia does not expect any of the quartet to be available to face Maurizio Sarri’s men at Vicarage Road on Boxing Day.
Asked if he thought any of the players would be fit to face the Blues, the Hornets head coach said after Saturday’s win: “At this moment I have doubts about that. The four players who are injured, in this moment they are not training with us.
“Maybe one of them, two of them will be available, but I think we’ll be taking the players who are fit in this moment, but I can’t tell you anything else.”
The Hornets head into the match seeking a third successive victory, but their fourth-placed opponents will be aiming to get back on track following their shock 1-0 loss at home to Leicester City.
