Watford have further strengthened their Under-23 squad ahead of the new season with two more signings.
Former West Ham United defender Mason Barrett has signed a two-year deal with the option of another year.
The 19-year-old was released by the Hammers at the end of last season.
Midfielder Callum Whelan will also be part of Hayden Mullins’ development squad for the new Under-23 Professional Development League campaign.
Previously with Manchester United, the 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year contract, also with the option of a further 12 months.

Like Barrett, Whelan was released by his previous club at the end of the 2018/19 campaign having spent time on loan at Port Vale.
