Adalberto Peñaranda could be set for an early return to Watford, who are in negotiations with KAS Eupen to terminate his loan.
The Venezuelan striker made a temporary switch to the Belgian side at the start of the season, but has featured just five times since then and has not scored.
In a statement on the Eupen website, they said the club has started a training camp in Doha, Qatar, but that Peñaranda has not travelled with the group and that instead discussions have begun in order to terminate the deal.
It reads: "KAS Eupen started their training camp in Doha without their offensive player Adalberto Peñaranda. The 22-year-old international from Venezuela has decided not to participate in the training camp at the Aspire Academy.
KAS Eupen has loaned Adalberto Peñaranda for the current season from English Premier League club Watford and is currently negotiating with Watford to dissolve the contract."
