The former coach of Watford striker Isaac Success has urged the player to leave during the summer transfer window to reboot his career.

First-team minutes have been hard to come by for the Nigerian striker this season and he has not scored a goal for the Hornets since he netted in the FA Cup fourth round win over Newcastle in January 2019.

Now Douglas Idahosa, his coach from Nigerian side BJ Foundation has urged him to depart the club once the summer transfer window opens up.

"I will advise Success to leave Watford even if it is a loan, he should try and move to another club where he will get playing time. I believe he is working towards it," he told allnigeriasoccer.com.

"He should go to even a smaller team where he can use the opportunity to start playing regularly and bounce back to his best. He is still very young and still has a lot to offer."

Success has scored just five goals in a total of 62 games in all competitions since joining Watford from Granada back in 2016.

However, Idhosa still believes the 24-year-old has a good career ahead of him and likened him to Nigerian star Daniel Amokachi, who scored 13 goals from 44 international appearances and also played for Everton where he won the FA Cup in 1995.

"He's a player that has a lot of strength and he's like a bull. He has a lot of potential and skills," said Idhosa.

"He is a complete player if he decides to listen and calm down. He used to play like Daniel Amokachi."
