Will Hughes has said he hopes Gareth Southgate will take notice of his Watford performances and give him a call up for England.
The midfielder has represented his country at both under-17 and under-21 level before and is now eyeing up some senior appearances.
Since Nigel Pearson has arrived at the Hornets, Hughes has been pushed back into a deeper position, a place he says he feels most comfortable.
Talking to Talksport this morning, he said he hopes those in charge of selection will start to consider him in the future.
"Every player wants to play for their country," he said. "But at the moment it's solely focused on Watford and making sure we stay up.
"But I'm playing in my natural position now which I haven't been in the last couple of years, which has been quite frustrating but it's something I've just had to get on with. Now that I'm playing in my natural position they might see and take note of how I'm playing, but if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. I've just got to crack on."
