Watford's 4-0 defeat to Manchester City sends their battle for Premier League safety into the final game of the season.

Despite an improved performance from the 3-1 defeat away at West Ham, they were still unable to prevent a ruthless City side from taking all three points and cancelling out the goal difference advantage they held over rivals Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Ben Foster - 7

There was little Foster could've done to prevent the goals from going in and things could have been far worse without him. Was also unfortunate to see Raheem Sterling convert from the rebound after keeping out his penalty.

Adrian Mariappa - 5

Started well, but in the end City's quality proved too much for him. Had a difficult second-half.

Craig Dawson - 5

Wasn't quick enough to cut out Sterling's first shot, but still had a decent enough first-half. Struggled with City's slick passing later on in the game and left Foster exposed too often.

Christian Kabasele - 5

No better or worse than Dawson. Defended well to begin with and kept Jesus fairly quiet, but was easily stretched as he began to tire.

Kiko Femenia - 5

Couldn't prevent Kyle Walker from getting the killer ball into the box for the first goal and didn't offer as much in attack as he often can. Difficult for him to do so in such a game however.

Will Hughes - 5.5

Battled well, especially in the opening half-an-hour and rushed City's possession at times with his pressing. Conceded the penalty however and had a tough time.

Tom Cleverley - 5.5

Defended well and linked up nicely with Doucoure on occasion, but couldn't get the ball going forward with enough regularity for Watford to build anything.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 5

Worked hard to pitch in with the defending to begin with but failed to keep up with the rest of the game. Was substituted after becoming ineffective.

Roberto Pereyra - 5

Did help out with defending, but was sluggish and conceded the ball cheaply on occasion. Failed to make himself an outlet when Watford were in need of a counter.

Ismaila Sarr - 5.5

Ran his socks off, but didn't do a lot with the ball. Caught offside too easily when some more care and attention was needed.

Troy Deeney - 6

Held the ball up well, but had little in the way of support or service. Spent a lot of the game much deeper than he ought to be.

Subs

Danny Welbeck - 5

Missed the best chance of the game. Did little else to impact the match.

Nathaniel Chalobah - N/A

Joined too late to make an impact.

Adam Masina - N/A

Joined too late to make an impact.
