Watford will go into Sunday's game with Arsenal in the bottom three, after their defeat to Manchester City and Aston Villa's win against the gunners tonight.

The Hornets' 4-0 loss eradicated the goal difference advantage they held over both Bournemouth and Villa before a first-half Trézéguet goal was enough for the Villains to take three points in their match against Arsenal and climb out of the relegation spots.

If Aston Villa win against West Ham on Sunday, then the Hornets will have to better their score in order to be in with a chance of survival. Just one goal currently separates the two sides.

A draw would only be enough to keep Watford up, if Aston Villa are beaten by the Irons at the London Stadium and Bournemouth fail to beat Everton at Goodison Park.

Hayden Mullins said his side would assess the results elsewhere and what they mean for his side in training tomorrow, as he now has to come up with a plan to ensure Watford pick up all three points at the Emirates in five days' time.
