Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu says returning to AC Milan “is an option for my future”.

The Watford Observer understands the Spaniard is hoping to leave the Hornets after the club were relegated to the Championship.

The former Barcelona and Everton man is understood to have been in ongoing discussions with his representatives about his options, with clubs already requesting information on the player's availability.

And speaking on the ‘El Transitor’ programme on Radio Onda Cero, Deulofeu said he would consider a return to Milan after joining the club on a six-month loan deal in January 2017.

The Italian club have retained an interest in the winger following his loan spell, while there have also been reports in Spain that former Hornets head coach Javi Gracia could push for a reunion, after taking over at Valencia.

Speaking on the programme, with his remarks reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Deulofeu said: “Milan is an option for my future. I was really happy, I spent six wonderful months and my daughter was born there.

“Going to Spain is also an option, as are other Premier clubs, but first of all we need an agreement to leave Watford.”

The Spaniard is continuing to recover from the serious knee ligament injury he sustained in Watford’s 3-0 win over champions Liverpool in February.
