Former Watford youngster Dion Pereira has returned to England and joined the Hornets' rivals Luton Town.

The 19-year-old made two Premier League substitute appearances during his time at Vicarage Road and was also a regular in the U23s, where he scored 14 goals from 49 games.

Pereira had been on Watford's books since he was nine-years-old and was voted the Hornets' Young Player of the Season in 2017 before departing for MLS side Atlanta United in January last year.

Speaking to the Hatters' website, Pereira said: "I’ve had a bit of experience in the Premier League and a whole season in a first-team environment out in America, but this is definitely a chance for me to kick-start my career back in England.

“Going to America was a great experience and it’s something that not too many youngsters get nowadays, so it’s been a benefit to me, and I know what’s needed at this high level.

“The set-up of this club sounds amazing. Obviously the Under-23s set-up is only starting this year, with a view to next season being in the league, but the pathway to the first team is there as long as you do the hard work. That’s what I intend to do.”
