Xisco Munoz has taken responsibility for Watford's 2-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, but said his team played without passion or intensity.
The Hornets failed to impress once again as they took the lead from yet another Troy Deeney penalty, only for QPR to score twice in the final 15 minutes to snatch all three points.
The head coach said he could not place his finger on why his team underperformed, but said it was his mistake.
"I am the first responsibility for for the game of today, I think," said Munoz. "I don't know why but they played without intensity, without the high press. It's my mistake.
"We know today was an important game for us and, I don't know why, but we didn't take our best level.
"We have to learn again, we need improvement, we need to work with more heart and we need to learn about the mistakes from today."
Asked about his side's inability to create and score chances from open play, Munoz again was unable to pinpoint exactly what the problem is, but said he had a new system to try in training ahead of this weekend's game against Coventry City.
"We also had our important chances but it's important for us [to score more], we are working about the situation," he added.
"But I don't know why, I can't say what exactly 100 per cent why we can't score like this, but we are working. We have a different system in training to try and we continue."
