Watford head coach Xisco Munoz insits he wants to "give his best" for Watford after another lacklustre display in their 0-0 draw with Coventry City.

The Hornets struggled to create chances and couldn't break down the Sky Blues who looked more threatening in attack and dominated the midfield for large parts of the encounter.

Asked if he could understand why fans might be frustrated watching the game, he said he was working hard to change things.

"I want to give our best for the supporters," said Munoz. "This is true and every time we want to give the best for our club, for our supporters. Of course, we want to give the best, but we know we need to change things and we need to work hard. We need to continue.

"We knew about this problem before, we need to continue and we need to try and change something."

Ahead of the match, Munoz said he would be working with a "new system" before fielding a 4-4-2 formation similar to the one that had lost at home against Queens Park Rangers on Monday night.

However, the head coach insists there were differences in their approach to the game against QPR, including with a move to three at the back, but said they still need to do more.

"Sometimes you need to start with three, when you play with one central defender. After you can play one man more in the middle," said the head coach. "We finished with 3-5-2, it's not only 4-4-2. We finished the last minutes with three centre backs and in the first half we try every time to start with three, because sometimes we need it.

"This is the time we need to work. We need to have every time everyone in the same direction with the same things and we need to continue. Right now it's not enough."

The result saw Watford draw 0-0 away from home for the fifth time this season, as their poor form on the road continued.

Munoz insists this is a problem that has been there for longer than him, but is something he is working hard to address.

"I think it's nothing new. We work with this problem for all of the Championship, when we play away we have the problems," he said.

"We need to change, we need to continue, we need to work hard to change and every time we need to continue to believe in the same, but that's not a problem for today. The problem was there before also when we play away, and we need to continue, we play a few games away, we won one, draw two and we last one.
