Watford's new attacker Emmanuel Dennis has been tipped to be a "huge success" in the Premier League if he "settles in well" with his new club.

Dennis joined the Hornets from Club Brugge this week and he will link up with fellow Nigerians William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, and Tom Dele-Bashiru at Vicarage Road.

Nigeria's Under-20's media officer Andrew Randa believes Dennis will bring a "different dimension" to Xisxo Munoz's squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

In an interview with Watford Football Club, Randa said: "If he (Dennis) settles in and settles down, he could be a huge success at Watford. If the coach sits him down and explains what he wants from him, and he gets around his Nigerian brothers, then he could be a brilliant addition.

"He will add so much pace to the squad and will bring a different dimension to the team with his directness and his versatility. He's also got Champions League experience."

Dennis' greatest night came on October 1 2019 when he scored a double at the Bernabeu in a 2-2 draw with Spanish giants Real Madrid in Europe's top competition.

Ranta said: "That was the highlight for him. He was absolutely fantastic, 8.5 out of ten. The Madrid defenders, including (Raphaël) Varane and (Sergio) Ramos, just couldn't live with his pace and he was unplayable at times. That day showed his potential."

Since signing for the Belgian side from Ukrainian team Zorya Luhansk, the 23-year-old has scored 19 goals, recently returning from a spell in Germany with FC Koln.

Joining Watford will be the forward's biggest test yet but Ranta suggests the Hornets faithful could be about to watch a player who gets them on the edge of their seats every time he receives the ball.

He said: "Emmanuel is a very fast player, with tremendous pace. He can play on either flank and through the centre. It will depend on the tactics of the coach, but he is a very busy player, a very direct player and takes players on.

"Once he gets past a defender it is difficult to catch him and he goes straight for goal. He likes to create goals as well as score."

Ranta says Dennis' qualities remind him of Ismaila Sarr, adding he's "got a bit of Kingsley Coman about him", while he has also been likened to Arsenal's Nicholas Pepe.

He added: "Emmanuel has such great potential, and the hope is he will now start to mature now he's 23. He could be a real asset with the right coach."
