Watford are considering a move for free agent Josh King this summer, as they continue their search for strikers.

The former Bournemouth man joined Everton on a short-term deal last winter but was released when that contract expired at the end of last month.

Reports emerged earlier today linking the player to the Hornets and sources have since confirmed that he is an option they are considering.

The 29-year-old scored 53 times in a total of 184 appearances during his time with the Cherries, but was unable to find the net in his 11 appearances with Everton.

He is understood to be seen as a more realistic target than Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, who the club feel is likely to be beyond their budget this summer.
