Watford's 2021/22 Premier League campaign begins this afternoon against Aston Villa.

With a raft of new arrivals, Xisco Munoz has admitted it could be some time before he knows his best XI.

Here's how I think they could line up today.

Formation: 4-3-3

GK: Daniel Bachmann

With Ben Foster also available, it's a bit of a toss up between the two but I'm expecting the Austrian to get the nod.

RB: Kiko Femenia

The full back is available after recovering from his injury and is the best option of the two choices.

CB: Craig Cathcart

With Francisco Sierralta not featuring too much during pre-season, the Northern Irish defender could be in line to start.

CB: William Troost-Ekong

The Nigerian looks set to be one of the first choice centre backs for the upcoming campaign.

LB: Danny Rose

Adam Masina is available again, but Rose has featured a lot in pre-season and could start instead.

CM: Peter Etebo

With Will Hughes out due to his contract situation, there's an opportunity for someone to make the holding midfield role their own. Etebo looks likely to be given the first chance.

CM: Tom Cleverley

After playing a big part in the promotion season, Cleverley will need to step up again this time around.

CM: Ken Sema

While traditionally a winger, the Swede has played in centre midfield twice in pre-season and could be set to fill in there again.

RW: Ismaila Sarr

Last season's top scorer will need to be in form again if Watford are to achieve their goal of Premier League survival.

LW: Emmanuel Dennis

Looked impressive in stages against Crystal Palace and could be in line for a start again today.

ST: Troy Deeney

Xisco Munoz described the skipper as a "legend" in his pre-match press conference and may choose to call on his experience. He loves a goal against Aston Villa as well.
