Cucho Hernandez wants to keep entertaining Watford supporters after he introduced himself to the Premier League with a stunning debut goal just moments after being introduced from the bench.

The Colombian had only one thing in his mind after Tom Cleverley worked the ball into his feet out on the left wing, although the striker revealed that head coach Xisco Munoz had spotted the space down the flank from which he scored.

“I was obviously ready to come onto the pitch,” said Hernández in a club interview.

“I hoped I could do well and maybe eventually score, which would’ve been fantastic. I was ready. The reaction of the fans and team was fantastic.

“He [Munoz] asked me to cut [inside] and go deep into the space that they were leaving. When I touched the ball twice and I saw the goal, I thought, ‘why not?’

“The reality is that I didn’t think [to cross], I just wanted to strike. I don’t know if there was a chance to cross it or not, but I always think about scoring.”

The aim now for Hernandez is simple: pick up from where he left off and continue to impress.

The striker was was pleased he was able to make his first Premier League impression in front of a packed Vicarage Road.

“It was fantastic, but I must say that they [the fans] always supported me ever since I came here from the first day," he said.

"What I want to do is to keep entertaining them and scoring more goals to help the team.

“The difference is outstanding. The reality is that fans make every stadium different, so I hope they can stay with us until the end of the season and push us beyond.”
