Watford have signed Turkish midfielder Ozan Tufan from Fenerbahce on loan.

The Hornets are putting the finishing touches to their squad with just under two weeks remaining of the transfer window, amid potential departures and injuries.

Midfield is an area in need of some tweaking, with the likes of Will Hughes, Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina all potentially heading for the exit this summer.

Meanwhile, new arrival Juraj Kucka, who impressed in the opening day of the season against Aston Villa is now expected to be out for the next two or three matches.

A loan with an option to buy has been agreed with Fenerbahce for Tufan, with the Turkish club this morning confirming the move.

In a statement on their website, they said: "Our football player, Ozan Tufan, who has been successfully carrying Fenerbahçe's jersey since 2015, has been leased to Watford, one of the English Premier League Teams, with an option to purchase.

"We would like to thank our player, who wore our jersey at a very young age and shed sweat for the success of the club, for his efforts so far and we sincerely believe that he will represent our country successfully."

While primarily a defensive midfielder, Tufan has scored 21 goals in 174 games for the Turkish side and nine goals from 63 international appearances.

As well as Fenerbahce he has also played for Bursaspor and Alanyaspor.
