Watford’s latest signing Ozan Tufan will not be involved in tonight's Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace.

Head coach Xisco Munoz said the club’s newest addition would join up with the squad after the upcoming international break.

Danny Rose is fit and available for the match and looks set to feature for Watford for the first time in a competitive fixture.

The Hornets head into the match looking to bounce back from their 2-0 Premier League defeat at Brighton at the weekend.

"Tufan is coming after the international break," said Munoz ahead of the game.

"[Rose] is ready and also I want to say he worked very hard in pre-season. Very, very hard. I want to say congrats because I know how much force he gave in the last eight weeks and I wish all the best for tomorrow because I'm sure he'll play tomorrow and I'm sure he will give us good things.

"If he plays in the first XI, I want to see the best of Danny. If he plays only 25 minutes, I want to see the best Danny. It's important whoever's in the pitch doesn't lose their hunger. We need tempo, we need intensity."

While Munoz said that no Under 23 players would be likely to feature in tonight's match, rotation among first team squad members is likely.

Goalkeeper is one such position that could see a change.

"I know we have very safe posts with Foster, with Danny and with Rob," said the head coach.

"Whoever plays tomorrow has a chance more to show everyone, 'I want to stay here, I want to play, I want to give all the best for this amazing goal we have in the future.'"
