One of the most prestigious regiments in the British Army are to provide the opposition for Oxhey Jets’ traditional Poppy Appeal match next month.
A team from the Windsor battalion of the Coldstream Guards will face the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side in the special fixture at the Boundary Stadium on Saturday, November 13.
Jets hold an annual Remembrance game for the Poppy Appeal in tribute to their former player Private Tom Lake, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan in November 2011.
More details about the fixture will be confirmed in due course.
