Watford were unable to replicated their positive performance away at Everton, as Southampton left Vicarage Road with all three points.
Here's how we rated their individual performances.
Ben Foster - 6
Not much he could've done about the goal, but poor distribution throughout.
Jeremy Ngakia - 5
Had a hard day with Ismaila Sarr not getting back and helping out in defence.
William Troost-Ekong - 5
Made some good blocks, but was partially to blame for the goal, with Che Adams turning far too easily on the edge of the area.
Craig Cathcart - 4
Started the game by almost scoring an own goal, lost Adams for the winning strike.
Adam Masina - 4.5
Frequently beaten by Livramento.
Moussa Sissoko - 6.5
Once again, one of the only players to come away with any credit, but wasn't helped by those around him.
Juraj Kucka - 5
Let frustration get the better of him and put some silly tackles in.
Ismaila Sarr - 4
Half-hearted and mindless at times. Showed no desire to get back. His least impressive performance since his arrival.
Cucho Hernandez - 4.5
Huffed and puffed but end product was poor.
Joao Pedro - 5
Deserving of his place in the starting XI, but the change didn't pay off.
Joshua King - 6
Held the ball up well, but couldn't create a lot. Poor decision making at times.
Substitutes
Tom Cleverley - 5.5
Showed desire and helped push Southampton back in the second half, but creatively offered little.
Ken Sema - 5
Struggled to make an impact after coming on.
Ashley Fletcher - 5.5
Had a shot on target, but otherwise didn't offer enough.
