Claudio Ranieri wants his Watford players to approach this weekend's trip to Arsenal "without being scared" after their setback against Southampton last week.

The Hornets were looking to build momentum ahead of a threatening-looking five match spell with Manchester United, Leicester City, Manchester City and Chelsea following on from this weekend's clash against the Gunners, but were unable to follow up their 5-2 win at Everton with another positive result against the Saints.

The head coach said he wants to see his players showing his philosophy on the pitch, as they go in search of some more much-needed points.

"It’s important to show our philosophy," said Ranieri.

"I know very big teams are arriving, but we have to play without anxiety, without being scared and we have to play our football. That’s it, that’s what I want to see.

"I want to get points. I do not know where, away or at home, but I want to try and get points.

"We are building a team building with a different philosophy from Xisco's management and I think they need time to understand me, but we are very close to showing my football."

Ranieri has been handed a boost to his back line for the match, with Francisco Sierralta back from injury, along with Kiko Femenia.

However, the return of Emmanuel Dennis up front is also giving him cause for optimism.

"He’s a very good talented payer," he said of the Nigerian, who is back following a one-match suspension.

"He's fast, has good skill, always goes straight away to the goal. I love this kind of player. Of course I missed him in the Southampton match, I think he can do a very good match against Arsenal."
