On loan Watford player Mattie Pollock has described his first goal for Cheltenham as "probably the best feeling" he has experienced as a football player.

The defender opened his account for the side he is playing for this season in an FA Cup first round tie with Gillingham at the weekend.

Speaking to the Cheltenham website after the match he said he is enjoying the experience of playing for the Robins.

“I've loved every minute that I've been here and to get the goal,” said Pollock.

“I said when I came here I wanted to help the lads as much as I can and if I can help contribute at the top of the pitch then who doesn't want to score? It's probably the best feeling in football, along with clean sheets.”

Pollock was sent out on loan to the League One side after joining the Hornets in the summer.

The former Grimsby man was not the only Watford player to score while on loan at the weekend.

Dapo Mabude netted against Rangers for Ross Country, although eventually ended up on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline.

Elsewhere, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton scored in Yeovil Town’s 5-0 win over Yate Town and Dominic Hutchinson scored his fourth goal of the season for Eastbourne Borough in their National League South win over Chelmsford City.
