Rob Edwards will have Mario Gaspar available for selection after his visa clearance came through.

The former Villareal defender joined Watford at the end of last month but had to wait until official paperwork was signed and sealed.

That has now happened and he will joins an almost full squad of players who could appear against West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

"Mario Gaspar will be available so that’s good for us," said the Hornets boss. "His visa clearance is good and he is ready to go.

"Everyone came through the Sheffield United game unscathed.

"We’ve still got long-term injuries like Imran Louza who has been missing for a while but other than that, there’s not many changes from what was available last week."

He knows though that regardless of who he picks, the hosts will be a formidable challenge.

Edwards said: "There will be a different shape [to Sheffield United] so the spaces where we can have the ball will be a little bit different.

"They’ll press in a different way too.

"Sheffield United are a well-oiled machine that have been doing something quite similar for four or five years.

"West Brom have a very experienced coach with a decent amount of experienced players of this league.

"There are similarities but it won’t be exactly the same game.

"[West Brom’s] threat will come from different places, maybe slightly wider areas with the likes of Matty Philips and Jed Wallace.

"They can be real threats."

But Watford will be heading to the West Midlands full of confidence after the opening day win and a positive pre-season.

The boss said: "I’ve generally felt that there has been a good vibe from day one whenever we have been together.

"When you win there is always a good feeling but it is important not to get carried away.

"There are 46 games and the rug can get pulled out from underneath you quite quickly but there’s been a good feeling this week."
