Callum Shinkwin has claimed his second DP World Tour title at the 2022 Cazoo Open.

The Bushey-born golfer carded six birdies and five bogeys today (August 7) to reach 12 under par for the tournament.

Shinkwin, 29, teared up and said he was “over the moon” following his win, which is his second title to the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open crown he won in 2020.

The Moor Park honorary member signed for a closing 70 despite a late charge from Scot Connor Syme who finished second and Julien Guerrier in the large group in a tie for third on five under.

Shinkwin told the DP World Tour website: "I'm just over the moon that I played great and finished it off.

"(Syme) sort of came out of nowhere. He was six, seven back and then obviously made a couple of birdies - a good putt on 16 where I made bogey.

"And him hitting it in close when I've struggled at the 17th all week; to hole that putt to guarantee a three-shot lead going down the last was huge."
