Academy player Bogdan Marian achieved a rare feat last night as he hit a double hat-trick while playing for Tring Athletic Under-18s.
The Romanian-born 17-year-old actually arrived at Vicarage Road as a goalkeeper but switched to play outfield last season, primarily as a left-sided defender.
Now in the second year of his scholarship, Marian has been getting some action with trial spells at other clubs.
He’s joined Tring Athletic on loan, and on Monday night they kicked off their season in the Allied Counties Under-18 Youth League North Division with a trip to Burnham in Buckinghamshire.
Tring won 8-1 and Marian scored six of them – and got an assist in the other two, just for good measure!
