Respects were paid to the Queen at Watford’s training ground during a minute of silence.
Watford players at the ground near London Colney stopped for a minute on Friday, September 9, to honour Her Majesty following the news of her death.
The squad and staff stood in a circle during the minute’s silence before resuming with the training.
Later on head coach Rob Edwards visited the Watford Peace Memorial to lay a wreath with a handwritten note on behalf of the club.

It read: “Thank you for your service, our deepest condolences to all of the Royal Family. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
“From all at Watford FC.”
Following the visit, the head coach said: “I think it was important for all of us at Watford Football Club to pay our respects. We held a minute’s silence at the training ground for all of the players and staff on Friday, outside on the training pitch.
“I then went to lay a wreath at the Peace Memorial on behalf of the football club. These are unprecedented times, and it’s very sad.
“Much has been said and written about how people want to pay their respects and say thank you, and that was our way of doing so.”
