Hornets legend Luther Blissett and Graham Taylor’s widow Rita are due to help lead the tributes when Watford FC honours Her late Majesty the Queen tomorrow.

Following the postponement of last Saturday’s game against Reading when all football was paused as a mark of respect, tomorrow’s Championship fixture against Sunderland will be the first game played at Vicarage Road since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

After both teams walk onto the pitch at 2.55pm – Z-Cars will not be played – the PA will announce the tributes to be paid.

This will include a wreath laying by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss, who will be accompanied by Deputy Lieutenant and the club’s record goalscorer Blissett, Rita Taylor and her daughter Karen Colley.

This will be followed by a minute’s silence, the playing of the national anthem and the announcement of the teams before kick-off.
