A boy from South Oxhey was part of team GB’s success coming first in a dirt-bike racing competition.
Marty Spires, 11, headed to Belgium with his team mates to take part in Coupe de l’Avenir on October 1 and 2.
For the first time ever team GB won the overall competition taking home the Joel Robert Super Cup.

Marty said: “I am so proud to part of the team and that I got picked to go.
“When we won, we were so excited, especially as it has never been won by team GB before.
“We couldn’t stop talking about.
“To celebrate, I had a meal with my family and I had steak and then ice cream for pudding.”
Marty, placed third in his 65 cc class category and a combination of his points and his team members led them to victory.
His dad, Marty Spires, said: “We were hoping he would place top ten, but he got third.
“We are super proud of him.”
