The unforgettable 4-0 win over Luton at Vicarage Road on Sunday will no doubt have inspired Watford fans to do all sorts to celebrate.

Undoubtedly there were a few drinks enjoyed in south-west Hertfordshire and beyond, supporters took to social media in their droves and did anybody check the pond in town?!

However, the derby day delight inspired one young Cairo-based Watford fan to write a match report that his Dad shared on Twitter.

Luca Weinrabe turned eight on Saturday and, although he had to watch the game on TV more than 2,000 miles away from Vicarage Road, he enjoyed it every bit as much as anyone else.

His Dad, Jason, is a teacher based in Egypt but originally from Hemel Hempstead, and he started taking Luca to watch Watford from the age of two.

The youngster has been to more than 50 Watford games despite living so far away, and was mascot when the Hornets played at Birmingham earlier in the season.

After Sunday’s game, he sat down and handwrote the following report (seen in the main picture):

Dear Diary

Yesterday was derby day, Watford v L*t*n. It was a sunny day at The Vic and very crowded!

And after 3 minutes . . . GOAL! And an extraordinary finish by Keinan Davis! 1-0

Corner for Joao Pedro to take, he passes it short and it’s returned for him, he crosses the ball and magnificent header from Davis. It’s now in the 6-yard box and WTE goal! 2-0 to the super Golden Boys. HT. I thought it was over for L*t*n Town.

2nd half begins with a goal, Davis pressurising the keeper, goes to Pedro. GOAL! 3-0! Unbelievable! Over for L*t*n.

The crowd is roaring super loudly! Could it be 4-0 again?

Oh it’s a nice clean tackle from Kayembe, it’s Bayo, passes the ball to Sarr. Goal! 4-0 again!

L*t*n fans leaving. Goalkeeper kicks the ball and there we go, 4-0 to the Golden Boys.

Watford 4-0. I am so happy.

It’s a match report that probably sums up how every fan felt, and a fine piece of work from an eight-year-old.

Luca’s Dad Jason, whose own Dad, uncle, sister and cousins are all regulars at Vicarage Road, said: “Luca wants to be a footballer, but I am encouraging him with lots of different things including writing, as I think he could develop this too.”

As well as being a mascot this season, Luca was also a mascot against West Ham a few years ago, and went to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final and final.

He also plays www.planetleague.co.uk where youngsters can score points for their club by doing planet-saving deeds.

“It’s completely free and, at the moment, Luca is contributing about 90% of Watford’s points,” said Jason.

“If we can get some more Junior Hornets to sign up then we can keep Watford above Luton in the table!”
