Midfielder Hamza Choudhury will miss Wednesday’s game at Cardiff after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 1-0 win at Wigan yesterday.

The 25-year-old, on loan from Leicester City, has started every game since joining Watford on August 10.

He was booked in the 77th minute of the game at The DW Stadium yesterday, adding to yellow cards picked up against Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Stoke and Swansea.

He now serves an automatic one-match suspension which will be the game in Wales on Wednesday.

Head coach Slaven Bilic could move Dan Gosling from right-back into midfield, as he now has Mario Gaspar fit. The Spaniard played 12 minutes as substitute yesterday following 15 minutes against Luton last week.

Other options could be to start Tom Dele-Bashiru, although he has only played one full 90 minutes in an Under-21 game last week since recovering from a hamstring injury, or to employ Yaser Asprilla or even Joao Pedro in a deeper role.
