A referee is set to take charge of a Championship fixture at Vicarage Road for the second time this season on Saturday when Watford will be seeking a third successive league victory.

Geoff Eltringham has been appointed as the man in the middle for the game against fourth-placed Southampton.

The County Durham official’s first visit to the Hornets came at the start of the season when Valerien Ismael’s men drew 0-0 against Plymouth Argyle.

That was the second of 12 league and cup games Eltringham has officiated in the current campaign in which he has shown a total of 51 yellow cards and one red.

Shaun Hudson and Matthew McGrath are due to be the assistant referees for the 3pm kick-off, with Tom Reeves on fourth official duties.

Following their wins against Norwich City and Hull City, the Hornets will be aiming to make it three straight victories for the first time this season and extend their good run to one defeat in the last ten matches.
