Oxhey Jets completed their first double of the season with a 2-0 win over Penn & Tylers Green and are now able to look up at the play-off zone with the comfort of a small gap beneath them in Division One of the Combined Counties League.

Goals from Dylan Hickman-Singh and Owen Ayres saw Jets repeat the margin of victory from the first meeting between the clubs this season to leave them in tenth place in the table, four points ahead of closest pursuers London Samurai Rovers.

The hosts found it tough going against their lively opponents in the opening stages and were second best in terms of possession, but they threatened on the counter through the impressive James Barnett, the ever-dangerous Hickman-Singh and supported by Andre Lopes and Remell Sterling.

It was three of that quartet who combined to give Jets the lead after 25 minutes when superb play by Lopes found Stirling in the box and his exquisite back heel allowed Hickman-Singh to finish powerfully.

The management team set about righting the wrongs of the first half during the break and their charges looked a much better attacking proposition after half-time, although P&T also had their share of the chances.

The home side had two penalty appeals not given, the second the strongest after skipper Ben Delicata was taken down in the area, but the all-important second goal arrived in the 66th minute when Hickman-Singh laid the ball back from the byline to lift the ball over the keeper towards the net.

The visitors thought they had got back just in time to clear but the assistant held his flag aloft to indicate the ball had crossed the line.
