Two second half goals saw Hertford turn the Herts Senior Cup quarter-final with Watford Under-21s around to claim a 2-1 victory at the Smile IT Stadium tonight.

Jonathan Macaulay made a good save early on from a dipping free-kick before Zak Fraser-Grante shot over the target from long range.

Laken Torres had an effort ruled out for offside in the 14th minute and then Junior Gyamfi saw a shot saved.

The Hornets went ahead after 32 minutes when a neat passing move ended with Hamzat Balogun sweeping the ball home.

Early in the second half Charlie Davis shot straight at the keeper before the home side drew level in the 56th minute through Harry Gilzean.

A Gyamfi pass also set up substitute Michael Adu-Poku after 73 minutes but he was denied by some last-ditch defending.

Sudayisi Sedenge then put the Southern League Central Division side 2-1 up with nine minutes to go.

Gyamfi shot wide from the edge of the area before captain Aidan Coyne had a couple of chances from corners as Watford tried to draw level.

However, Hertford saw the game out and they progressed through to the semi-finals.
