Oxhey Jets suffered the agony of a last-gasp defeat as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Windsor on Saturday.

A tight match saw the hosts edge the first half before their opponents, who were playing under new management, had the better of the second, and their efforts were rewarded when they pounced on a late error to score.

Although they looked defensively solid, Jets missed the energy and creativity of Dylan Hickman-Singh and were not at their best.

That said, they still had chances in the first half, particularly when a James Barnett header hit the underside of the bar and bounced down, but the officials adjudged it had not crossed the line.

Jets found themselves outworked in the second period by a Windsor side eager to impress their new boss, although substitute Vinny Wade impressed after coming on for his debut.

Wade fired just wide and two free-kicks from Olly Pope presented aerial chances for the hosts, but right at the death a mistake gave Windsor one final chance and they made it count.

The defeat leaves Jets tenth in Division One of the Combined Counties League ahead of another home game this weekend against Woodley United.
