A superb individual display by Dylan Hickman Singh ensured Oxhey Jets took full advantage of a fixture getting the green light at the third time of asking by thumping struggling Bagshot 5-1 last night.

The Combined Counties League Division One clash had twice been postponed recently due to the heavy rain, but Jets were up for the game and put in an impressive performance, none more so than Hickman Singh who scored three times and created the other two goals.

The Jets creative talent opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he ran onto James Barnett’s defence-splitting pass and confidently rounded the keeper to slot into an empty net.

The goalscorer turned goal supplier 16 minutes later when he was played in on the left by Danny Fowler and breezed past his man before pulling the ball back to Owen Ayres, who made no mistake.

It was 3-0 in the 37th minute when the ball fell to Hickman Singh on the edge of the penalty area and he smashed a shot past the keeper to double his tally.

Jets made changes at half-time, but looked to maintain their momentum by continuing to attack.

Hickman Singh completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute, pouncing after the keeper had parried Remell Stirling’s attempted dink into the net following some fine work by Andre Lopes.

A fifth goal was added just four minutes later, this time Lopes getting his name on the scoresheet after Hickman Singh slipped the ball through to him.

To their credit, Bagshot never stopped trying and Hugh Harrison Lang denied Jets a clean sheet with his 84th-minute goal.

The victory leaves Jets 11th in the table, but with at least three games in hand on three of the four sides directly above them.
