Watford FC fans have been warned of changes to parking on match days.

Starting this Saturday, March 9, the shared-use parking spaces near the Vicarage Road stadium will be suspended from 9am ahead of the 3pm match against Coventry City.

While the public usually cannot park in the bays four hours before kick-off, the ban has now been extended to six hours.

Watford Borough Council said the extension was agreed upon with the club and police in order to prioritise fans and pedestrians’ safety.

It added that non-permit holders must move their vehicles from controlled-parking zone K bays early in the day to avoid penalties.

The list of streets in Zone K are:

  • Aynho Street
  • Banbury Street
  • Benskin Road
  • Brightwell Road
  • Hagden Lane (between its eastern junction with Queens Avenue and its junction with Vicarage Road)
  • Harwoods Road (between Vicarage Road and Chester Road)
  • Holywell Road
  • Oxford Street
  • Rose Gardens
  • Souldern Street
  • Vicarage Road (between Hagden Lane and Farraline Road)
  • Willow Lane
