Much has changed since fans saw Watford FC's ground looking like this - and the photo itself hints at change, with rubble in the foreground suggesting construction work.
The Watford Observer is delighted to share pictures from the Museum of Watford's archive and this week we look back at Vicarage Road at an unknown moment in its past.
Whenever it was taken, the Observer clock is visible, and those with a magnifying glass may be able to see that the photo appears to have been taken at about midday.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: "This photograph captures Watford Football Club’s ground as it once appeared, with a far more open appearance than today.
"Many will remember the iconic Watford Observer clock that stood proudly on the Rookery End stand. The image was taken from the Vicarage Road end of the ground, offering a perspective familiar to generations of supporters.
"I don't have an exact date but building work is quite clearly in progress!"
