The Stags bounced back from last weeks defeat with a convincing win over Bishops Stortford to top the Premiership.
The trip to the lovely ground in the appropriately named Cricketfield Lane is the longest trip for the Watford based Club. On the hottest day of the year to date skipper Seggery lost the toss for the third successive time and the Stags were sent into the Field. This turned out not to be the worst outcome as the Leagues leading wicket taker, Kamran Khan, trapped opener Davis LBW second ball.
The Stortford innings never really got going and meandered along at 3 runs an over despite an innings of 63 from Smith their overseas Australian. The innings finally came to an end in the 47th over for 164 when Khan took his 4th wicket.

His figures of 4-23 took his seasons tally , after only 3 games, to 15. More remarkably he has done so at a staggering average of 4.8.
The Stags set about their run chase in aggressive style scoring 34 off the first 4 overs. Patel (45) was in fine touch taking 20 runs off the opening bowler Davis’s first two overs who had one of those days best forgotten.
Whilst last weeks centurions departed with more modest returns a partnership of 72 between Perera (50no) and Seggery(33) left only 2 runs left to secure victory by 6 wickets and take them to the top of the Premiership table.
