A win at last ! As you can imagine very rai effected Saturday but 1st XI managed to complete their game and got a win.
HHTCC 1st XI - Championship vs Dunstable (A)
Couple of rain interruptions but with the League regulations about rain it worked out in Hemel's favour and they got the win. Put in by Dunstable Hemel had one interruption at 2.15 and then their innings was rained off at 4.30. By which time they had made it to 141 - 5 with no great run scoring, mainly because of the weather. Oliver West made 32, Brett Penny (25 and Max Clark was 23* when their innings was called to a halt after 33 overs. Such are the ways that the Leagues rules on rain effected and reduced overs games are set it meant that Dunstable were set a target of 180 runs from 33 overs.
Their opener Brad Matthews set off in determination with 53 from 51 balls but Hemel switched their bowling around until they came up with the right solution. Brett Penny made the crucial break getting Matthews out and then 16 year old Lucas Bertin came on for his 2nd spell and took a double wicket maiden followed by 2 more wickets in his next over. Dunstable went from 143 - 4 to 159 all out in 4.3 overs helped by 2 sharp run outs by Ed Pike. Bertin ended with 4 - 26 from 5.3 overs. Quarter way through the season and this result leaves Hemel in 5th place in the Championship after 5 games.

HHTCC 3rd XI - Div. 5B vs Holtwhites-Trinibis 2nd XI (A)
3 games played in Div. 5B and all involved sides winning the toss, putting opposition in, bowling them out cheaply and then winning. Hemel were one of those unfortunates, pu in and skittled out for 88 in 27 overs. Only 2 double figure scorers in Jim Smart with 13 and Adam Moulster with 33, putting on 50 for the 7th wicket. Holtwhites then went on to 89 - 4 from 27 overs with 4 of Hemels 5 bowlers used taking a wicket. Down at 9th in the Division - relegation spot !
HHTCC 4th XI - Div. 8 West vs Northwood 3td XI (H)
Rained off after 23.4 overs with Hemel on 87 - 2. Put in by Northwood at least Hemel were not bowled out and had the bright spot of opener Tony Linfoot being 51* from 60 balls when things called to an end.
There we are, at least a win after 2 blank weekends.
