Amin Nabizada made his senior Afghanistan debut in a four-team Asian tournament this month, appearing four times for his country.

Nabizada has previously represented England at Under-18 level but now looks set to play his international football elsewhere, having broken into The Lions of Khorasan's squad.#

The 18-year-old featured in all four matches at the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in the Maldives, in which Afghanistan were beaten 2-0 by Pakistan in the final.

They had beaten the Maldives 1-0, drawn 0-0 with Bangladesh Under-23s and lost 2-0 to Pakistan in the group stage, before ending up with the silver medal.

Nabizada, 18, will be pushing for more senior action at Watford next season having broken into the squad more consistently in 2025/26.

The winger impressed in a cameo off the bench at home to Charlton Athletic, also appearing against QPR and Sheffield United, taking his tally of first-team appearances to five.

After the Charlton game, he revealed his intention to entertain the Vicarage Road crowd, saying: "Playing at The Vic is always great, whether it is for the Under-18s, Under-21s or the first team.

"The fans want to see creativity and us just go for it. That’s what I'm trying to do.

"I think I’m doing it so far, so I need to keep it up and keep working. I want to excite the crowd."

He could face plenty of competition in the wide areas, though, with Othmane Maamma, Nestory Irankunda, Kwadwo Baah and Rocco Vata all currently on the books.
