Abbots travelled to Northwood, won the toss and batted first.

Abbots started well, taking 13 off the first over, both batters scoring freely, until Mortimore was caught for 14, followed very swiftly by Matt Parkins, caught behind without scoring.

Burgess and Pujan Vyas put on 26 when the latter was bowled, having scored only 6. Bradley Finch came in and helped the score move to 86 before Burgess was deemed stumped, just shy of his half-century, hitting 7 4's and a 6 for the top score of 46.

The runs came slower as the opposition constantly changed bowlers at one end, to ensure the batters couldn't settle.

Satyak Patel trapped Harry Khan LBW for 22, bringing James Allan to the crease, but 8 runs later Finch was bowled for 31.

Ollie Sills came and went, facing 3 balls and scoring 1.The wheels came off at this point, with Ben Chase caught for 4, Rajiv Purohit run out for 4 and Harshal Shah becoming Devam Shah's 4th wicket, bowled for 4 and Abbots left dangling, all out for 157.

Sills opened the bowling for Abbots, with a wicket off his 5th ball when Kyle Walcott was caught behind for 4. Spin was the preferred option for the alternate overs, with Allan bowling tightly, and Northwood having to wait until the 17th over to get their 50.

With Purohit removing Chris Sayers for 25, Charlie Blake, caught for 2, trapping Charlie Moore LBW for 1, things looked brighter for the visitors, with the score 4/55.

Chase came on and things ticked along slowly, Patel becoming a thorn in the side, scoring consistently, while others fell around him. Jonnie Baron was bowled for 2 and Yogi Soni became Purohit's 4th wicket, caught without scoring.

H. Shah had the satisfaction of removing Patel, having hit 11 4's, out LBW for 83. Too little too late as the hosts went on to get the winning runs in the 41st over.
