HHTCC 1st XI - Championship vs Hoddesdon (A)
An expected defeat on the return to 50 over games in the Championship? High hopes having got their skipper and big run scorer Rob Walters out for just one but not to be.
50s from the next two batsmen and 101 from number four Jim Mitchell meant that Hoddesdon could pile on the runs and got to 297 - 8 in their 50 overs.
Ed Pike led the bowling with 4-59 from his 10 overs and the young Lucas Bertin showed promise with 2-68 from his 10. Hemel had a charge at that total and got to 247 from 44.3 overs to lose by 50 runs.
Aussie Oliver West hit 89 from 88 balls and Max Clark made 40. But, whilst batsmen got in the big supporting knock was not forthcoming and Hemel lost by 50.
Worst news was that Hemel picked up 10 points in this defeat whilst Redbourn, also defeated by Shenley Village, managed to pick up 11 points and so now lead Hemel by 6 points at the positions 8 and 9. Last three games close down to points gained.
HHTCC 2nd XI - Div.3A vs Cockfosters 1st XI (H)
Had beaten Cockfosters earlier in the season over at Chalk Lane but they did it to us at Heath Park. Electing to bat Hemel started off well getting to 43-1. They then lost six more wickets in only adding 42 more runs as they found themselves at 85-7.
Lutero Corrigan (32) and Aaron Wilson (17) started it off well but only down at number eight Carter Botha (10) and number nine Jacob Hodgins (24) were double figure scores seen to get Hemel up to 143 all out in 44.4 overs.
The Botha struck again with the ball taking 3-24, but their number four Sam Barker hit 77* to see Cockfosters to 144-4 and victory. Mid-table clash as we now have Hemel in sixth place and Cockfosters in fifth.
HHTCC 3rd XI - Div.5B vs Weston 1st XI (A)
A much changed side for Hemel who, put in by second placed Weston managed to get a reasonable score of 221 all out from 49 overs. Up from the fourths, Sam Wheeler opened and scored 53 putting on 75 for the first wicket with Dil Khan (36).
Coming in at five, Harrison Brown held his bat for 59*, putting on 72 for the fifth wicket with skipper for the day Jimmy Smart (42). But Weston were not to be denied as they made their way to 235- 2 in 45 overs with their skipper and opener Paul Snowden-Lane making 91* along the way.
Clifton also lost so Hemel are still 19 points behind them and escape from relegation with three games to play.
HHTCC 4th XI - Div.8 West vs Boxmoor 2nd XI (H)
Could be seen as a bottom end of the table decider which Hemel lost and as good as sealed their fate. Boxmoor now eighth, having squeezed down Great Gaddesden to ninth and Hemel are bottom at 10th.
Boxmoor batted first and made 254 - 6 from their 40 overs which was always going to be a big score, even on the Hemel nursery pitch. Henry Morgan got half of the wickets with 3 - 38.
Hemel had to chase and Tony Linfoot led the way with 86. Down the order Scott Radcliffe made 35 and Eranda Jayasinghe made 38 but whilst Hemel chased to 206 - 9 from their 40 overs they still ended up losing by 50 runs.
